Missing: 2012 Northern Indian Ocean cyclone season

#1 Postby HurricaneBill » Fri Oct 05, 2012 8:09 pm

There have been a couple of invests this year, but so far, activity in the Northern Indian Ocean has been pretty much non-existant. The first depression of the season has yet to form!

Of course, this could all change. November is the second peak of the NIO cyclone season. October, November, and December have produced destructive cyclones in the past. So I wouldn't let my guard down yet.

The NIO region has two periods of tropical activity - spring and late fall, but very little in between due to monsoonal shear.
