Houston Metro S2K and others get together pics up

#1 Postby vbhoutex » Wed Aug 08, 2012 10:34 pm

Katdaddy and some others have initiated a get together for August 18th at 11am at the Cadillac Bar at the Kemah Boardwalk. We are hoping everyone in the area can make it. If you are able to make this event we would love to meet all of you. Please let either myself or Katdaddy know by posting here or by email or pm.
Brian is also posting about it on Channel 11 forum and on FB.

It would be great to meet you again! I have those photos from Galveston somewhere. I have planned to meet David (VBHouTx) and Deborah Emmy Nowinski who is another weather freak at the Kemah Boardwalk next Saturday and decided to see if anyone else in the Houston area would like to meet. Its been a long time Houstonia.

Still getting together. Brian and his family, me and my wife, Nikki, Debby(wxpirate), Ticka and her hubby and anyone else that shows. We've invited all S2K and Channel 11 Weather forum members as well as posted it for all Houston area weather geeks on FB.

Yes we are still meeting in Kemah Saturday at 11AM. I will re-post on Facebook tomorrow evening. It will still be nice time even if its only a few of us. These events are a challenge to get everyone together. We are all busy people.

Um... I'm not super familiar with the Kemah boardwalk. In fact, I've never been there.

Is it hard to find? Is it easy to find parking? Any suggestions?

thanks!

Southwest side - I will take I-45 south. But beyond I-45 I know nothing. ;-)

Here you go Houstonia:

Take I-45 south and exit NASA Parkway Bypass. The Bay Area/Baybrook Mall exit is just before the NASA Parkway Bypass exit. This will take you East over Webster and the freeway will merge near NASA into the old NASA Rd. Keep going straight around Clear Lake, Taylor Lake, Nassu Bay to 146. It will be big the intersection next to Hooters. Turn right which will take you over the Kemah-Seabrook bridge. Just on the other side of the bridge will be street light at 6th street. Turn left into Kemah. At the top of the bridge you will see the Boardwalk along with historic Kemah off to the left. Turn left at the stop sign on 6th street and find a parking spot. The Cadillac Grill is in the middle on the Boardwalk. A fun place to visit but a great place for us local weather friends to talk about the weather and tropics.

Looks like we will have at least 10 weather fanatics meeting at the Kemah Boardwalk Cadillac tomorrow morning at 11AM. I reserved a table for 15 just in case a few more join us. I used Brian Flanakin as the reserve name but should have used Katdaddy. Looking forward to seeing everyone tomorrow. I am guessing we will be talking about the weather :)
