Accuwx on homebrew by the end of week
One other area to watch starting later this week will be the eastern Gulf of Mexico, the Bahamas and western Caribbean. A cool front now over the Midwest will get unusually far to the south for this time of year, reaching the area around Florida and Cuba by Thursday. There is some chance that low pressure will form along this front and gradually turns into a tropical depression or storm.

The GFS shows it pretty well off the east coast, most of the other models show something there as well. Question is does it have enough time to get tropical.

AN AREA OF DISORGANIZED SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS HAS FORMED IN
ASSOCIATION WITH AN ELONGATED AREA OF LOW PRESSURE LOCATED A COUPLE
HUNDRED MILES EAST OF THE NORTHEAST COAST OF FLORIDA. ANY
DEVELOPMENT OF THIS SYSTEM WILL BE SLOW TO OCCUR AS IT MOVES
EASTWARD AND THEN NORTHEASTWARD AT AROUND 15 MPH. THIS SYSTEM HAS
A LOW CHANCE...10 PERCENT...OF BECOMING A TROPICAL CYCLONE DURING
THE NEXT 48 HOURS.
Stalled front off SE coast.
I seem to recall that one of the models advertised a CL forming off the tail end of the front but it was in the E. GOMEX. I believe that was Monday but since then, nothing....

The surface lows seem to chose the very tail end of the front to form, usually less shear there. Even when that does happen it can take a few days for the diurnal pressure drops to reach the point where you get a sustained circulation.
Doubt it will beat the Cape Verde system but it is closer to an inhabited area.
