Big news out of the Wpac this week is revelation that HKO have started aerial recon missions into tropical storms in the norther S China Sea. They flew into TS Haima last week. It remains to be seen whether they will fly into the centre of strong typhoons near Hong Kong or just fly around periphery of large storms like Taiwan's DOTSTAR recon missions do.
It will certainly make HKO the number 1 agency to follow for storms in S China Sea.
