What new tropical tools/products and websites are there for this 2011 season? I don't think this topic has ever been posted near the start of any season thus far and 2010 products can be included too.
Sort of related, has NOAA released any interesting data and findings from those drones that were in some tropical cyclones for 24 hours or less from last season? Either specific or broad data is what I mean.

Re: New Tropical Tools/Products and Websites for 2011
Check out Michael Black's (Hurricane Research Division) presentation at ImpactWeather's annual hurricane seminar. He discussed current and future missions for Unmanned Air Vehicles for use in reconnaissance. The link to his talk is in the title next to his picture:

In addition, the NHC will be issuing "Probabilistic Hurricane Storm Surge greater than 2-25 feet" when a hurricane watch or warning is in effect.

*NHC Product Changes for the 2011 Hurricane Season (PDF) (see Robbie Berg and Dan Brown's presentation "What’s New from NHC in 2011?" from the 2011 National Hurricane Conference for a more graphical view)
*Links to National Hurricane Conference Speaker PowerPoint Presentations. It opens up a pdf, and you then click on the presentation of interest to download the a pdf version of the PowerPoint presentation. Interesting discussion in Eric Blake's presentation "Possible enhancements to NHC genesis forecasts" about eventually enhancing the TWO to include both short-term (within 48hr) and long-term (up to 5 days) development chances and possibilities of issuing watches/warnings prior to TC genesis for systems close to land.
*JTWC: "On 01 June 2011 JTWC will start classifying the formation potential of tropical disturbances in the Significant Tropical Weather Advisories as Low, Medium, and High." Further details (pdf). I'm conflicted about this change, as the reasoning given (to match NHC's terminology) does not make sense when you read JTWC's definitions of low/medium/high.
*Annual updates of Hurricane directives (all in pdf format):
-10-6 Tropical Cyclone Weather Services Program
-10-601 Tropical Cyclone Products
-10-602 Tropical Cyclone Coordination and Emergency Operations
-10-603 National Hurricane Center Hurricane Liaison Team
-10-604 Tropical Cyclone Definitions
-10-605 Tropical Cyclone Officials Defining Points and Geographic Defining Points
-10-606 Tropical Cyclone Names and Pronunciation Guide
-2011 National Hurricane Plan
