I know this is along the ITCZ but it looks impresive with deep reds. Its located at 7n and 36w.If this could somehow detatch itself we would have a player I think.

I could well be wrong, but I think that about 1/3 of the convection is below the 5 degree north line. The "business end' appears to be at 7 or 8 north, which is far south, but far enough north that it could detach from the ITCZ.
I imagine that it will likely be gone in the morning, though. If it sticks, it could be something.

Convection is weakening somewhat with wave though it is still going for now, there is still some convection.

Hm, I was talking about the one at 40W, which seems to be completely gone.
