Moving more NW?

#1 Postby ALhurricane » Thu Aug 21, 2003 11:26 pm

After looking at satellite loops and San Juan radar, it appears to me that TD 9 is moving more NW than forecast. If indeed this is correct, then it is headed right for the Dominican Republic.

It has been a long day for my eyes, so I may not be looking at things as objectively as I could.

Upon further review...

Water vapor imagery shows an upper level disturbance to the system's north. It is beginning to lift out now, but I think it has had some temporary influence on the system. It may turn out to be a very important temporary influence.

Time will tell....

looks like it resumed a more WNW track. This gives the system less time over Hispanola and the takes it into eastern Cuba. Looks like this may bring the system more toward a GOM possibility
