Ok, can someone on here verifiy that I am not a complete doofus? I am trying to explain ACE to someone and here is what I understand it to be:
I get it that it is the sum of the square of the advisory for determining a specific storm. So let me see if I did this right:
TS Foobar has winds of 35 knots. That gets squared which is 35 x 35 yes? That is 1225. That is then divided by 10,000 to get an ACE # for that one advisory of .1225? Do I win the prize or is it back to basic math for me?
Thanks!
