This is the general tropical discussion area. Anyone can take their shot at predicting a storms path.

Low to form off the east coast?

#1 Postby storms in NC » Tue Aug 26, 2008 12:08 pm

On the weather last night our local met said a low may form off the east coast. I didn't catch the rest of it. Any one else here this? and could this be something to watch?

NWS office in Morehead City (MHX) mentioned this in marine forcast today and yesterday, also mentioned possibility of tropical cyclone in the Bahamas next week. They were not making it a forcast, but just listed both as model indicated possibilities.

what i was thinking before i read your thread was that fay appears blocked by a high to her north and that she may transfer some of her energy from the southern appilachians to the G.S (like a low would do in the winter time)

i don't think the red area circled is the start of that low or but i could be wrong

actually i just checked all s.c and n.c discussions and they mention nothing of a low (other than remnants of fay drifting north ) so ?
