Bold Prediction
I predict within the next 3 weeks we will have another Cape Verde system that will become a Major Hurricane that will head to the Caribbean and cause catastrophic damage to the islands. I see a wave on the eastern part of Africa that looks pretty good, and say it will be the next major Cape Verde system. This is my humble opinion though.

Re: Bold Prediction
The 2008 July 16 06Z GFS run seems to support your prediction. The Great Cape Verde storm you predict shows up clearly on the last few days of the run. However, the track of the storm seems to take it north of the islands.

Re: Bold Prediction
The GFS gets a resolution lobotomy at 180 hours, and isn't to be trusted for any great detail after that.

I note that the 12Z run has the storm weaker and has it going into mid-Florida.
