20 tropical storms
14 severe tropical storms
and 10 typhoons

or

19 tropical storms
11 typhoons
and 7 super typhoons

7 super typhoons is the most since the 2006 typhoon season.

The GFS is consistent in showing future-TY Sinlaku.

If that verifies, if it becomes a major typhoon it may become a super typhoon, the 4th in a row. All of the major typhoons this year have become super. :eek: :eek:

Very fitting...

Sinlaku was submitted by Micronesia which the Marianas is part of. Last 2 times the name was used, 2002 and 2008, peaked at Major typhoon status, Cat 3 and 4...

Like the last 5 runs, 00Z GFS continues to develop a tropical cyclone east of the Marianas although now showing 2...

CMC shows something similiar...

GFS wants to bring sinlaku to guam as a tropical storm and takes this very close to the philippines and develops two more tropical cyclones...

That's the second storm. The first storm is a tad weaker and landfalling 312 hours out as shown in several runs.
