Are the models showing a more west track now?

This is the general tropical discussion area. Anyone can take their shot at predicting a storms path.

Good grief people...stop being so sensative.

For those who want to make bad jokes...don't forget to add a /sarcasm tag...or an emoticon...because some people are more sensative than others and don't know when you are joking.

Now...if the poster had made a derogatory comment about Texas...I could understand the aggravation and anger. Nobody messes with Texas unless they want a whippin'.....but we are talking Alabama here.

/SARCASM

SEE HOW THAT WORKS! j/k

PS...used to live in Alabama (Birmingham). Lovely state. Really. No seriously. I'm being honest. Really. Wouldn't lie. Just joking above. Please don't take me seriously.

The preceeding post is NOT an official slam on Alabama and should not be used as such. It is just the opinion of the poster and may or may not be backed by sound thinkin'. It is NOT endorsed by any professional institution including storm2k.org or the Crimson Tide...or Auburn (whatever they are...after all who cares...ROLL TIDE) For Official Information please refer to the Alabama Department of Tourism & Travel. http://www.touralabama.org . That is all.

Doesn't matter how thick a person is. Insults aren't Welcome and will not be tolerated at Storm2k. Thanks for your input though

Guess it depends on what you consider an insult. Point taken.

Look at what Birmingham NWS is saying...
NEEDLESS TO SAY THIS TIME FRAME IS HIGHLY DEPENDANT ON THE TRACK
OF KATRINA. MODELS STILL VARY SIGNIFICANTLY. PERSONALLY...I DON'T
THINK THE NORTHERN GULF IS UNDER THE GUN AT THE MOMENT WITH A 595
RIDGE OVER THE AREA. RIDGE DOES SHIFT WESTWARD...BUT NOT FAR
ENOUGH TO THREATEN MUCH OF ALABAMA.
ONE OF 2 SOLUTIONS LOOKS MORE
LIKELY...THE STORM STAYING ON A WESTWARD TRACK AND IMPACTING SOUTH
TEXAS...OR A QUICK RE-CURVE ACROSS CENTRAL FL (GOD BLESS PUNTA
GORDA) AND MOVING UP THE EAST COAST.
LOTS OF QUESTIONS HERE...BUT
STILL PLENTY OF TIME TO MAKE ADJUSTMENTS.

I stand corrected

Gotcha! I was just fainting some indignation. But it sure did create some activity. Now I must appologize to all for getting off track and mis-leading some very nice people...Back to Katrina. Extra time over the water due to the ridge delay should swing it slightly to the west, but IMHO, I still think it will be east of Pensacola (land fall). How far east? The big question.

Most people on here know, I'm harmless. I live in TX, Pasadena to be exact. I dont know anybody from Alabama, I've heard jokes just like everybody else. Also, if it weren't for Alabama, I couldn't get to Disneyworld on I-10.

Well, let me extend a hearty Bama invitation to stop by for a visit on your way to Disney World sometime. Our coastline may not be long, but it is quite pretty!
As for those models: What are they picking up on that's causing this leftward shift? Must be something in the atmosphere that's making them go west. I don't like the shift, of course, but it's several days out and, as previously stated, more shifting is bound to occur. "Swing your partner round and round... swing to the left... swing to the right..." :)

It's not an offensive word. It just means he's new to the board.
