OK. When Hurricane Gilbert was moving over the Yucatan Peninsula into the Gom, the NHC official forecast was for Gilbert to move into Northern Mexico. However, accuweather issued a forecast that it would move further north into the Houston/Galveston Bay area. One of the local officials in Galveston ordered a mandatory evacuation based on accuweather's prediction. Needless to say Gilbert made landfall about 400 miles south of there just as the NHC had predicted.
