Fifty-four (looks a little better spelled out). Watchful since Camille, tracking since 1973 when I left a tornado alley and moved within 60 miles of the MS Gulf Coast. Now I live less than nine miles from the mouth of Mobile Bay. That makes me very watchful.
Happy belated birthday HurryKane! Our birthdays must be pretty close together.

Jeez...I should know more than I do...
Age 50, hooked on hurricanes since Donna hit New England in (I think) 1960. By the time Belle came by SNE, I was tracking on maps. Moved to FL in 1990 and discovered the internet in the same year. Tracking in much more fun these days, but I have to wonder. Doing the math, it seems I should know a lot more than I do about these things, but hey...I'm still alive, so there is still hope.
Thanks for being here everyone. Storm2K is the best!

I'm 34 and have been tracking Hurricanes since I moved to Florida in 1998 (has it been 8 years already?) Although, I have to stay, my knowledge and skills in tracking storms has increased 10-fold since joining Storm2K last year.
Before moving south, when I was a kid in upstate NY, I used to track the snowstorms during middle school and high school ::-removed-:: a snow day! In my early teens, we visited Atlanta, and I was obsessed with trying to get a tour of TWC! Didn't happen.
And I thought I was the only one this geeky in the whole world...but, now, I've found the rest of you!!

38 and I started getting into hurricanes around 1990 then moved to Michigan in 98 for 6 years came back in March of 2004 so back into them again. The first one I experienced was when I was growing up in New Jersey, Hurricane Gloria, I don't remember what year but I remember being without power for like 4 days.

22, and I started following storms after Andrew, so I guess I was 7.
My parents would give me all of the tracking maps that you could get at the stores and I would watch the tropical update on TWC and make points. My buddies used to think I was weird.

I am 52. Got interested in the weather while living in the Chicago area in my teens. Mainly tornadoes and snow storms. Moved to Dallas in high school. Again followed severe weather. It wasn't until I moved to Louisiana in the early 80's that I started to follow hurricanes. The advent of the INTERNET and finding storm2K just increased my knowledge and appetite.

42 and I remember tracking with my grandmother around 1970, I grew up in the camile era on the Ms. Gulf Coast. Franklin Creek to be exact (Ms. ALA line) I have been interested in weather since then but have really gotten into the details since I found S2K last year.

I'm 29 (for one more month
) and I've been interested in storms for as long as I can remember. Growing up in south LA, we learn early what a hurricane is. I've also had a real passion for being close to the water, meaning ocean, sea, gulf, bayou, etc. I just feel "at home" there. That makes knowing the weather all the more important, you don't want to be out in the boat when severe thunderstorm is threatening.

I'm 33, been interested in weather since 4th grade when I read a book on the freaky things tornadoes and hurricanes do with inanimate objects and trees and people (i.e. the 2x4 through trees, people in different counties, interstate frog raining, that type thing)
Been tracking 'canes since a couple of years before I moved to the coast. That's long enough to be nervous and short enough that I need to learn a lot more

just turned the big four-oh a couple months ago and have been tracking almost my whole life. my dad wanted to go to school to be a meteorologist, but it never worked out for him. so, he became an avid weather watcher and read books about meteorology. of course, he sucked us all in, too! we had a huge magnetic hurricane tracking chart on our wall so we could keep track of them all summer and fall. so, my interest in hurricanes is genetic.
