the storm appears to be less organized from earlier this morning, so I am not surprised that we are not seeing an upgrade. I would have upgraded earlier, but I would not now

the center does appear to be to the south, on the extreme southern edge of the convection

Its broader Cirulation looks to be quite large. But I'm pretty sure a new one has formed over the northeast side of it under the convection. So est of 2.5/2.5 is very good right now.

Limey is inside Emily

I found the word limey inside the word Emily. But that isn't really very interesting. I was hoping to make a really flipping sweet post but I couldn't do it. Gosh! :(

Thank you for the quick reply Derek. I'm working on my satellite

I don't think it looks much different from this morning. Except may be more convection. I wouldn't agrue that this isn't a TS, but I think TPC will be conservative and not upgrade this at 5pm.

There is no shear that would be blowing the convection to the west of the center by Cimss.

What's with that little circular intense "popup" thunderstorm on the extreme east edge of its deep convection...that looks weird to me. Too many pop-corny type storms, and not enough wrapping...there's something missing here. I wouldn't upgrade at 5PM.

There's something

#49 Postby InimanaChoogamaga » Mon Jul 11, 2005 3:25 pm

It looks more like something is going on with "Emily' on the Dvorak IR located here: http://www.ssd.noaa.gov/PS/TROP/DATA/RT/FLOAT/BD/20.jpg

So maybe they will upgrade at 5 or later like 11

NRL has a farther west position and still NONAME, so I'll be shocked if it's a TS at 5.
