Yep, even when I was mowing the yard this morning it was a little breezy which was better than having heat stroke. DEAD still now. Creepy.

There's a really tight pressure gradient due to the bermuda high and the low in CO. If anything, this will keep any system from getting its act together anytime soon. There's a tight gradient over all the western GOM...this will not allow for a low level system to develop because the energy from the convection that would lower pressures is not being allowed to "hang around" in the same area...but constantly is being transported poleward.

Not to mention.. When ever the locals say we have like a 60-100% chance of rain, we never get any!! I must have a dome or something over my house... I am always a little weary when they say we have a high chance of rain... Sometimes I wonder what the locals are looking at... or if they are even in the right state....

There was a 70% chance of rain here today, but it DID NOT rain. I fully expected it too. I am not disappointed though. Last week we had rain 5 days in a row, 4 of those on days when it wasn't supposed to rain, LOL busted forecast.

The light rain quit a bit ago, and now it is just dead-still. And soooo humid... I went outside, and it's like trying to breathe through a wet washcloth. Bleh.

The flood warning advisories have been issued for a handful of counties to the southwest of us.

I'm beginning to think Bryan and Lufkin might be in for more of the rain than we are. It looks as if it could be heading more northward in its path. Could be wrong though.

We had about 20 minutes of hard rainfall here earlier this afternoon and sprinkles off and on since then. Looks like we have clouds trying to build to the SE out over the water. No breeze here either right now, but it sure was windy earlier when it was raining.

Not a bloody thing here... I got a couple of spits of rain while I was walking out to check the mail around 6- but it wasn't even worth the title rain... it was very breezy.

Very very still and very humid. I can't seem to get my java working well enough to see the radars... After all the interest earlier it'd be a real shame if it doesn't even drizzle *Laughs*

LEAD SHORTWAVE LOCATED NEAR SAN ANTONIO THIS EVENING WITH A BAND OF HEAVY TSRA ENTERING OUR WESTERN ZONES AT THE MOMENT. ADDITIONAL SHRA ARE DEVELOPING AHEAD OF THIS BAND. EXPECT THIS ACTIVITY TO INCREASE OVER THE NEXT 2-3 HOURS AS THE SHORTWAVE APPROACHES. KHGX RADAR SHOWS RAINFALL RATES OF 2-3 INCHES PER HOUR IN THE STRONGEST STORMS...SO FLOODING IS A CONCERN TONIGHT. ALSO CONCERNED ABOUT POSSIBILITY OF FUNNEL CLOUDS THIS EVENING WITH MAIN BAND OF STORMS...AND EVEN THE OUTSIDE CHANCE OF A TORNADO. THIS IS ALREADY COVERED IN HWOHGX AND THE SVSHOU THAT WAS ISSUED EARLIER FOR THE SW ZONES. GOING FORECAST LOOKS GOOD WITH 80 PCT POPS ACROSS THE AREA TONIGHT AND AN FFA IN EFFECT. NO MAJOR CHANGES ANTICIPATED.

All those thundershowers went through here earlier today. Not that bad actually a little bit windy from the storms. We got just under 2 inches here. We have had some light drizzle after that but nothing major. Don't think it can be classified as a heavy rainfall event at the moment anyway but that is my opinion.

This is sort of a tes message for me, but here goes. about 9:30am we had a good thunderstorm here in Baytown. the the rest of the day it got more and more windy from the South East. the new rain got here about midnight... good light show, but so far very little rain.
