I wonder if Georgia suffers from complacency. Georgia did not suffer any major hurricane landfalls during the 20th Century.

However, they did in the later half of the 1800s. It's not a question of IF it will happen again. It's a question of WHEN it will happen again.

.LONG TERM (FRI NIGHT-WEDNESDAY)...
VIRTUALLY NO CHANGE TO THE CURRENT EXTENDED FORECAST. WITH SURFACE
BERMUDA HIGH LOCKED IN PLACE...ESE FLOW WILL PREVAIL INDEFINITELY.
ALOFT...A BRIEF AND SLIGHT BREAKDOWN OF THE EASTERN U.S. RIDGE MAY
ALLOW A WEAKNESS TO SETTLE OVER THE AREA EARLY NEXT WEEK. THIS
WEAKNESS MAY EXPLAIN THE UPTICK IN DEEP LAYERED MOISTURE MONDAY
THROUGH WEDNESDAY...WHICH COULD SIGNAL A BIT MORE LATE AFTN/EVE
COVERAGE EACH DAY. HOWEVER...WOULD LIKE TO SEE A FEW MORE RUNS
BEFORE INCREASING PCPN CHANCES ABOVE CLIMO. WILL HOLD ONTO CHANCE
WORDING FOR NOW. PERSISTENCE FCST FOR TEMPERATURE.

Bermuda high locked in place.....
Brief and slight breakdown of eastern ridge...

Not the kind of verbage one is looking for during hurricane season...unless you want a landfall that is...

Something we didn't read very often last year...

Agree, this would not be a good situation if a Hurricane was coming toward the SE coasts. Will be interesting to see if this pattern becomes more a trend through the summer, if so....NOT good!
