I'm 47. I've been a weather watcher for about 20 years. I was mostly interested in tornadoes until this crazy year of hurricanes that we've had. It's been more than educational. The more I hear, the more I want to learn.

I'm 24. I used to be interested in hurricanes when they came through Fla when I was younger (i.e. Andrew), but activity dropped off and I "forgot" about 'em til last year. I spent the year in Louisiana, but watching my home state get pounded by canes really got my attention. I was glued to the weather channel all summer. I started reading books about canes, then tornadoes, then wx in general, and now I'm reading physics books! Yup, I've become a true wx geek and now I'm thinking about going back to school for a met degree. :D

38. Always paid attention to the weather, being sea guy from New England, but started actually chasing in 2003 after I came back from Iraq and met up with http://www.UKWeatherworld.co.uk crew in VA Beach for Isabel.

Been chasing man made disasters for 13 years.

I'm 35. The first book on hurricanes I read was when I lived in Atlanta, which would have been 3rd or 4th grade, so that would be 8 or 9 years old. It wasn't a children's book, either.

I have lived along the SE coast (farthest inland was Atlanta) my entire lifetime and always wanted to experience a hurricane. Well, I got my wish in spades over the past 10 years (In various hurricanes an eye has passed over my house, I've been the the NE quadrent, my yard flooded up to the floorboards of my house, I've had countless car windows shattered from falling limbs, I've had to drive across a flooded bridge in my large 4x4 to save my pets.) Now I'm sick of 'em (hurricanes, not my pets.) Be fine with me I never experienced one ever again - unless I was a tourist in the area, and I really don't want to wish that experience on anyone else.

43 y/o and been a weathergeek since May 8, 1979 during a tornado outbreak in Tampa, FL where I lived at the time. Ten tornadoes in Hillsborough County in 13 hrs, 14" of rain. If that doesn't suck you in to this hobby, nothing will!

Hey Wxmann... As you probably noticed, I had been keeping the compilation updated and posting the new one on a regular basis - but then came August 29, 2005 and ever since I've had hardly any time to devote to the project - much less anything else. So, THANKS MUCH for stepping in and doing the dew!! I think it's pretty cool to see the members of S2K depicted in such a manner. Good Job!!

And of course, credits continue to go to Stormcenter for initiating the question in the first place last summer (man, that seems so long ago) and to the mods for allowing the thread to continue (especially Luis)!!
