Regarding this comment:
Rarely do we have straight deep layer easterlies here in eastern Florida for 3-5 consecutive days, let alone a week or more.


The Spring and summer of 2004 was an exception, also we have already seen a few strings of 5 days with deep easterlies, not usual for this time of year. I don't think you can generalize the Eastern Coast of FL on this since traditionally South Florida from W. Palm Beach south is in the easterlies more than the central and northern east coasts for geographical reasons.

Well, the pro met who posted earlier summed up my thoughts on the ridge completely. As I said before it's not really a precursor to anything. It just means Florida isn't getting any rain.



Not saying it matters, i'm sure there will be 5 to 1,000,000 Florida Doomsday topics in it's wake regardless.
