Wow we just got slammed here in Melbourne/Palm Bay. Lots of thunder and lightening, along with torrential rain.

Convection is very weak with the mid level circulation but that circulation is quite impressive and the turning is pretty impressive.

Yea we've been getting drenched here in Central Florida for that passed few days.

My pool is at least 3" higher than it was on Sunday

Disappointing lack of rain here in Polk. However, the climate is pretty tropical right now.

Looks like the convection is waning. Does JB have any new thoughts on this?

thats because the low is over land and until it moves back over water or reforms over water nothing is going to happen.

Oh I thought you meant back over into the gulf. I suppose it could well end up back over the Atlantic and if it survives then it may have a real chance. Mind you what direction is this low moving right now??

:uarrow: I was under the impression that it would be pushed back over the Gulf due to the high building back in.

I sort of detect a weak circulation on radar over the center of the state moving to the northeast, but I'm not sure that I['m not just seeing things.

Well this is the sort of set-up that we need to keep a close eye out for then.

Matthew, well that would be pretty interesting if the circulation can survive that journey back, given the MLC looks pretty strong then it certainly has a chance of doing that.

they are starting to give us funnel cloud warning here on the news (central florida). they say they are light and should touch down. right now i am on the barrier islands on the central east side. we had heavy rain and loud thunder earlier today. but right now it is dreary out, and extremely still the palms normally always move because of the east coast sea breeze here. and right now they are completely still. it actually seems a little strange here right now. well we could use the rain.

edit:

they just said quasi tropical with a counter clockwise spin. they also stated earlier that the main spin was over polk county.

For not being tropical the clouds look tropical dark blue background with thin white clouds in the forefront. It's been a long time since i seen clouds like this.
