Early this morning, Impact Weather was all about Ernesto heading N/NE into the middle of Florida, somewhere around Tampa. Their latest report still suggests that will be the path, but Impact's "certainty" percentage is "less than earlier suggested."

Just goes to show that it's too early to tell and that it's anybody's guess. In less than 72 hours, the projections by the "in the know" folks has gone from Mexico to Tampa and further south.

What does that say? Stay alert and be prepared.

Channel 2 in Charleston just said that right now the NHC had us at a tropical storm on Friday so we have to monitor it closely. He didn't go into much detail or anything so far at 6pm.

what is Brian Norcross saying from channel 4 Miami??

Brian give three scenerio A) it can either traverse up the south spine of Cuba and exit up on the NW side of Cuba B) It can take the NHC track and this would be good for Keys and S. Florida not enough time to get strong C) it could continue NW and exit through the NE tip of Cuba and up Florida Straits directly affecting Miami..not good...storm will be alot stronger if this happens..He never give an opinion but when u watch him he tends to go with the B or C Scenerio...He will give a better analysis at 6:30pm..will keep u informed....By the way, he also said that some areas in South Florida may have Hurricane Watches issued later tonite or earlier tomorrow morning ...depending on NHC

Steve Jerve on channel 8 in Tampa (NBC) seemed to have the attitude of "be concerned but wait and see".

I was at Home Depot earlier to get some Plylox, and it was quiet. I suspect that there will be more panic tomorrow.
