Then it was beautiful.

I don't know how NC could have dealt with GRACE being a few hundred miles offshore. You would think that some of the rainbands would have dealt a blow to the outer banks.

It did in that was the truth...175 to 125 is 50 mph. Lili also fall apart. Kind of. :wink:

I gotta vote for grace 2003...there wasnt even a spin with grace...it was just a big BLAH of convection.

I doubt that how a storm "falls apart" at any given time, especially during and just after landfall qualifies... Andrew even quickly decayed after hitting here as a major, and I would never call it pathetic--or Katrina which was one of the most impressive storms I'd ever seen--as was Wilma--will never forget that pinhole eye!

Now that pic of Matthew 2004, THAT looks pathetic. :lol:

Just a reminder that even what some may consider a "pathetic" tropical system can cause a few headaches. Take 2004's Matthew for instance...

There's a page of additional TS Matthew photos from the Larose, Louisiana area (Lafourche Parish) at the KLRZ-FM website:

Minimal Tropical Storm Matthew also flooded parts of the LaPlace area (St. John Parish). If I recall, there were about 30,000 people w/o water after one of the mains was compromised by the flooding.

Yup. If you look at the Sat pic you can clearly see that Bob's moisture was getting caught up in the SW flow, and by the time it actually made landfall in New England it was rapidly losing symmetry (becoming extratropical), and other tropical characteristics.

Wasn't Grace 1991 a major hurricane that ended up producing the Halloween Storm? Majors as far as I know don't ever look pathetic, some look somewhat worse than others, of course. Could somone post the picture of Grace (1991, not 2003) that they thought was pathetic?
