The outflow has developed very strong this morning. In the convection is increasting in starting to form banding. It would not take much to start to form a banding eye. This thing could try for hurricane strength!!!

Things look very favorable from my perspective through 31/12z. So I would not expect a peak in intensification before this time frame. So it may even strengthen more during the next 24 hours if it becomes a tropical storm today.

Wow ...

It sure would be a fitting end to this crazy year if we had TS Zeta forming in the last 48 hours of the year.

It would also be fitting to finally end an Atlantic year with a 'Z' storm. That's never been done before.

wow
I read that other thread yesterday about the storm so I decided to check the TWD for the slight chance it might be included as a tropical wave.

I was very surprised to see it a special feature! I really hope that it makes it to TS strength before the end of the year...

By the way, if "ZETA" forms between now and tomorrow, it will be the latest that a (sub)tropical system has developed since records began since advisories on Hurricane Alice in 1954 were initiated on Dec. 30, at 4 AM (6 GMT).

Jim, I am impressed by your long-range predictions based on space weather. You continue to knock them out of the park! :)
