only thing that looks wrong to me is the fact that they got Gautier and Mosspoint flip flopped.

Typically, as I have noted before, the gust ratio for overwater ranges from 1.2-1.25. Overland, JTWC found in their study that the gust ratio ranged from 1.4-1.6. Consequently, wind gusts in the 140-160mph range will correspond to sustained winds of 88-114mph depending upon which ratio is operative (which depends upon roughness). Inland during Rita, it appeared that the ratio was in the 1.6 range.

In Plaquemines parish, there were gusts of 155 mph. Based on the reports I DID hear, this map looks accurate, I think that it was definitely a Cat 4 if there was a gust of 155 mph on land.

The highest gust I heard about in Andrew was 171 mph, the intensity landfall is 165 mph, if there was a gust of 155 mph in Katrina, I think that 145 mph is accurate.

the highest gust was 177 m.p.h. before the arrival of the eye wall

a gust to 155 is consistent with a 110-115KT cat 3, but then again, its likely an estimate

Isn't 115 knots a Category 4?

115kt is 130mph

Then why do they refer to 135 mph as 115 knots in the advisories?

it refers to both 130 and 135 m.p.h. Frederic was 115KT, but a 3 at landfall
