I'm amazed at how much convection activity there still is in Africa for this time of year. Almost looks like it's winding up instead of winding down.

Isn't that ridge supposed to bring very cool weather? If so, should reduce SSTs near the coast significantly.

It looks very well organized right now just comin off the coast. It even has a nice spin to it.

Sigh. This is not *late in the season* for us (not at all being contentious, just a little stressed and wondering what is next - we've been so fortunate).

Yeah, there have been more than a few bad storms to form during this time of the year... And 2005 has been one heck of a season. We probably haven't seen our last Major hurricane, IMO.

The wave coming off Africa now is VERY impressive, the most impressive this year, already has a circulation. The only thing that is killing it is dry air, without it, this would be a TD or TS already. But, of course, this will probably poof in the next few days, remember TD 10 last year?
