I would argue from the rooftops for not stopping them. They aren't evil, malevolent, or the instruments of a judgmental God. Just highly effective means of heat transport, and they've probably been doing their thing for tens of thousands of years. Maybe longer, who knows? Maybe the dinosaurs saw 250+ mph hurricanes, for all we know. Frankly, I'd be sad to see them go.

10-megaton nuclear bomb exploding every 20 minutes


Big problem with the "blow em to hell" guys solution, is that we don't make 10 megaton bombs or missiles anymore! Most of our nuclear stockpile is measured in kilotons. The last time we made something with that size yield was likely in the early 70's. MIRV 4 teh win!
