Say "blizzard" in Austin and people will ask where the Dairy Queen is. We don't get blizzards. Snow is a once in 10 years thing - and it melts before sunup. People here will freak over any weather event. They just know if there's a 10% chance of snow, they'll need to stock up like they're not makin it back to the store for a month. All snack food too ;)

The situation is getting worse by the minute in the Houston metro area..

Literally every major roadway going out of the city is grid locked. Gas stations are rapidly running out of supply. If the forecast track shifted even further east towards Galveston by the 5am advisory then even more panic will ensue.

Exit ramps at the major interchanges from I-45 North are closed. The entrance ramps to I-45 North from the major interchanges are also closed. (Beltway, 6-10, 59, I-10)
