This is the general tropical discussion area. Anyone can take their shot at predicting a storms path.

Noname normally means that the Navy folks haved coordinated with NHC to put as header Noname or TD designation. However since ex 10 was gone that 10L Noname header remained for more than 4 days .Now this afternoon surfaces again but it not means that TD advisories will be issued shortly.I am sure thay will issue a STDS to let the people know about upgrade but dont expect that tonight.

I guess this is why Jose is listed as 11L instead of 10L.

Under normal circumstances, shouldn't it have been 10L, using the fifth set of advisories templates (ex. MIATCPAT5) instead of going back to the first?

Another agency in this case SSD has it as 10.

Our system has picked up the models as AL102005. Interesting after taking 2 days off...

This map includes the last NHC Discussion track data and position FROM 8/14/2005.

Sorry, didn't word my statement correctly.

I was referring to Jose as being 10 instead of 11.

Thanks cyclone. Sorry about that. 8-)

As Derek said in another thread a decision has been made to have this system as TD 10 and not TD 12.

Because this all got so confusing, I started a "Bahamas wave" thread for people who want to talk about the associated weather instead of mixing that with the nomenclature discussion here....
