I would not be surprised if it turned north before impacting FL. We here in South Florida have heard that all too often. Ridge weakens and it turns to the north right into the Carolinas. Cant say the same for the folks in Central Florida who went through Frances and Jeanne though.

lol....careful what you wish for my friend,...really it is exciting getting ready for a storm, but once it gets to you, and the excitment of (getting ready) wears off, you soon don't find any (fun) running from rising waters and falling 200 yr old oak trees, and climbing to the roof and being picked up by a helicopter ain't so grand.....you get humble real quick

Yeah I was just an 8 year old kid when Andrew was closing in on FL. At that time I was excited cause we were gonna get some "action". Ooooooh boy I was in for the hardest lesson of my entire 21 years of life to this date.......

Manteo ! I live there too. Work in KDH and have boarded up our office about 6 times in the past ten years.

I had two trees on my home after Isabel and while the damage was not severe, after going through that, I can't imagine what it must be like for people who suffer major damage.

Ya'll North Carolinians can have it, as long as you keep it away from this part of the coast! I have been witness to too much distruction along the east coast and sure don't want to witness any more of it.I feel for all of the people and lives that these storms effect and don't wish this kind of stuff on my worst enemy.
