So...given I do no believe the computer models (and forecast rules of thumb also) could be so totally out to lunch...this storm is not a threat to Florida.


Excellent post! Yes it definitely would be "The WORST failure of Computer modeling".

Not worse than Mitch: "Recurve into the Gulf!", they screamed; "OK!", he said, and recurved south into Honduras. -- You can't top 180 degrees of wrong; at this point, hitting the Florida panhandle would only qualify as 90 degrees of wrong.

Hahaha so true! I doubt this will be anything but a Texas/Mexico storm. In fact... I'd be willing to bet large sums of money on it. Louisiana, don't worry. And if you must worry, there will be time to do so.
