I don't think he is referring to the troughs bringing cooler weather down South. I think the point is, troughs are getting down here so therefore they are very strong and the ridge is very weak. Therefore pushing the Ridge further into the Atlantic.

I really don't see any worry about this, all in all it will even itself out. Just Wait!

Lets talk about ridges & troughs down the line when there is a actuall hurricane on the map somewhere..Right now the point is moot.

yes zach that is what I meant. I know we cant base everything on last year but we already had a bermuda-high like feature in the Atlantic by this point...this year there is no sign of it yet and OF COURSE we shouldn't concentrate on the Bermuda High, if it is weak, we could see still see storms hit from the GOM or Caribbean as they get picked up by these troughs... :eek:
