The NHC doesn't want to give the all clear to the west coast of Florida yet since there is always a chance of it making an unexpected turn. Its better to be conservative and not give a false sense of security to us.

They already have given a false sense of security to you because it wobbled west.

And even if it did pass 80 miles West of us we would still have high winds and high storm surge. Elena sat 100 miles off coast and battered us so this is no time to let your guard down. A 40 mile shift to the East as it gets closer would have huge implications.

Once the Ivan model stops, open the pulldown menu under 2004 STORMS and highlight CHARLEY. If you want you can clear the chart with "CLEAR" under playback controls
