Will any named storms form in the MDR in July?

This is the general tropical discussion area. Anyone can take their shot at predicting a storms path.

Except for 2013 and 2008, every season since 1995 that's had 3+ pre-August tropical wave spawned storms - where we are currently at - has been hyperactive. Of course 2013 was a massive weird exception and 2008 had ACE 145, on the very upper end of AA

Not a meteorologist, in fact more of an idiot than anything. You should probably check with the NHC or a local NWS office for official information.

So now that's four named storms including two hurricanes of tropical origin before August; one in the MDR and another a tropical storm strength PTC in the MDR. I'd say if we are predicting strictly on climo that's an almost guaranteed high end AA season at least.
