Check out ( Mimic-TPW ) Definitely looks like the beginning of something trying to spin up down there....http://tropic.ssec.wisc.edu/real-time/m ... /main.html.

Not really. Last week, models were showing a Wilma 2, but then dropped it. As of now, it looks like models are starting to detect a little something again, but nothing significant. There's definitely something there, but I doubt it has a strong chance of developing into anything. Looking at the satellite loop now, the only rotation I see is over land. Looks like it's heading into the Pacific. Maybe that's why the GFS seems to be favoring development in the Pacific rather than the Western Carribean this weekend. Still bears watching imo.

This needs to be watched still, the GFS seems to slowly be bringing this feature back which is something of interest

Very bizarre run. It's in the fantasy range, so I have no idea whether it's the same system or not.

I think you meant Ferro right? I saw that too, he is simply highlighting tropical disturbances, so nothing to be worried about yet IMO

There's not much down there. Very minimal rotation on the TPW loop, barely detectable. Development appears unlikely.

Well, on Twitter tonight Philippe Papin and Eric Blake @ NHC seem to think this is an area to watch.

I am losing my enthusiasm for Eric Blake given some recent tweets of his. He's treading on thin ice with some of his public statements. Not seemly for someone associated with the NHC. Makes you wonder how experienced he really is in his profession.

Well again, not sure if we can/should compare the skills of any Pro Mets. No one can objectively do that in a forum like this. Everyone can have their own favorite, but measuring skill is another thing entirely.

Blake has made some political commentary on his *personal* Twitter account. It even says "My personal opinions only, NOT my employers!" in his Twitter bio, so he's free to say whatever he wants. Typically I find when people say "keep politics out of (X)" it really means "keep politics I disagree with out of (X)". For another example of a well-known met's Twitter account full of political commentary there's Joe Bastardi. In each case (both of which are from different sides of the political spectrum), I don't see how any of it reflects at all on their abilities as mets.

JB = private citizen. EB = NHC (gov) employee. My concern isn't the political stuff so much as questionable public comments about meteorological possibilities that seem to be going beyond what NHC would want to have out there. That's all I'll say.

Read their conversation. Couldn't make sense of it other than that they were debating in a civilized manner. Although, this stuck out to me

Just something to speculate and have fun with I guess. In the end, I still don't think anything is going to materialize.
