Fingers crossed that that is once again the case! Whatever protection prayers/ceremonies were put in place by the local indians to protect Pinellas County way back when seem to have really paid off for us over the last ~90 years. Hopefully that safe track record continues!

I love living here cuz we get to watch in a safe area. Yeah we might get a ts or smething but it looks like the panhandle westward and se fl coast in line for this year. I know we cant let our guard down but we are not in a high hit proned area which is nice.

:D Nah not in hernando and pasco counties. we ok here. Pinellas does stick out more and definitely concerned for sw fl coast. but right here in hernando its jst fun tracking. and if ur wanting to remind me of 2004 i had fun cuz by the time they got here they werent strong just a little excitement. of course my house without power for 5 days so stayed at a friends house and played games and chitchat. that was frances jeanne only one day without power. still smart to be prepared no doubt. I worry for my 2 kids they live in panama city. now were talking target zone this year. but they have evac plan in place they go to alabama

Not sure which topic to post this in, but did anyone in the Florida Panhandle see all the rays in the Gulf near the beach this weekend? I've never seen that many at one time and I've been here my whole life. We had all those sharks in the Gulf back in 2004. Just a local observation...

I suppose it could be more than just a natural phenomena and possible any sea life threatened by the oil moving away from it if able. Displacement would be a good thing versus death one would think but, in some cases it could spread more problems like disease etc. I would think it's possible anything that gathers in masses in specific locations for reproduction or such would relocate from oily water.
