Shear shouldn't be a problem in the way of development.

I think it may have a chance in about 3-6 days once it gets closer to the Islands. From there I think it may either take a Caribbean to Gulf path or a path more northward toward the Bahamas and Florida. Since I am planning to possibly be on the east coast of FL from this Thursday until July 31st/August 1st, I may have to watch this one closely.

When they start ramping up then you have to watch them.

it's by far the best looking wave of the season and looks close to TD status to me...

what is not so comforting is that it is moving west and doesn't appear to be a fish system at this point.

Well, since Recon is out in the Atlantic already, have them warm up a few TV dinners and head out a few thousand miles east to take a look!

It does look impressive still. It's doing something the previous waves didn't.....reforming convection.

I agree with the "oh crap".... my oldest daughter is in the middle of her life long dream of going on a cruise, doing the west car. with last stop in Bahamas.
I should have known with her luck something would ramp up!
Well, I guess if it does, I won't be getting any more IMs complaining of being bored because all there is on the ship is "old people" and kids....Guess I will have to keep my eyes on this....and those of you who are more experienced can always give me a heads up.... :cheesy:

It looks pretty darn good the last several hours. It's surrounded by dry air. Every time I pull up the sat, I expect to see it has gone 'poof', but it's still there. Here in the EC, we'll be keeping a close eye on this wave.

Edit: quickscat from very early this morning (6z)
