One hurricane I've always wanted to see is Hurricane Carla 1961.

For those who don't know, Carla is the largest hurricane ever recorded in the Gulf of Mexico. I've seen a surface analysis of what it looked like and it covered the entire Gulf of Mexico with huge bands covering Central America and extending from the Eastern Pacific and Wesern Caribbean in the southern United States. Incredible, right? Well, I want to see an actual satellite image. I leave it to some of you "researchers" out there...

Thank you Christy, although I've seen that radar image, which doesn't make the hurricane justice in terms of size.

A satellite image would be hard to find since it was during the very beginnings of the satellite era. One day we might come across it in the old history books.

Here you go, Hurricane Hunter 914. Here is a rare radar image of Super Typhoon Tip from 1979 near or at peak intensity. It's clouds covered over 1,000 miles!
