Update of the grafics about the sst's in the Atlantic Basin. It shows the GOM warming especially in the southern and central gulf including the Bay Of Campeche. The Caribbean Sea is boiling and the MDR east of the islands is as well very warm until 40w south of 10n.Also in the COA it is already over 80*F.

For those who haved not seen the latest about the sst's in the Atlantic Basin take a look.the GOM is warmer now than in the past 3 weeks and it is normal to the warm waters to expand northward thru the entire gulf.Caribbean Sea is boiling with mid 80's in parts of that area. And the Tropical Atlantic or the MDR region east of the Lesser Antilles between those islands and Africa is above normal all the way from 60w to 20w at 10n and from 60w then the 80*F line going up in latitud around 40w.And in the COA the anomalys are around +2.0c.I haven't seen this area so warm at this time of the year ever.So there is a quick view of how the waters in the Atlantic are in mid to late May.

Those who live in the Gulf coast take a look at the grafic in above post and see how the GOM is warming fast.

Anyone got a satellite image with all five storms draped across the Atlantic from 95?

Because of the very warm waters in the Atlantic will the above occur again?

Thank you Luis! I can't find the ones I saved.

The water temps will certainly support another 1995-like year,
numerous storms across the ocean. Their destination is what will
determine a fun fish-tracking season, or a 2004-like nightmare.

BINGO !! No matter how many systems form but where will they go is the most important thing.

What a great year that was for East Coast surf. All were Cat 3-4, all fish, and had produced 10-14 days worth of waves each. Now that is a hurricane season I can root for!

RIP Edwardo, Felix and Luiz 1995-1995

Names from memory, if any one knows better, please post!

Wow those Atlantic SST's are steaming. Way above average in the MDR. The anomolies are warming by the Florida coast as well.

Let's see if 2005 is a repeat of 1995 and you can go surfing many times. :)
