If you can direct me to where anyone said it was a bannable offense, I'd appreciate it. Typically, we just lock a duplicate thread, warn people, and carry on.

Furthermore, we're not the only board that tries to enforce that type of thread organization. I'm on a handful of forums that are stricter than we are about what goes where and what happens to dupe posts.
