Want an awesome radar loop of Emily? I mean, awesome!

Ok, it is a huge file- I used that JAVA loop code that you see on the floater, hurricane sector, radar, etc. I automatically captured over 100 frames from Brownsville and built the animation below. Speed it up using the controls and watch as Emily comes in like she's drunk at 2 in the morning!

Huge file- not friendly for dial-up- order some pizza then come back and see the loop:

Hey Mark: thanks for saving the loop...it's excellent.

Hey S2k weather fans: And if there is any doubt at all about the following theory, please watch the loop again.

Quite clearly, in this loop, we can see what happened to the eye:

1. The larger, outer eyewall continued west to WNW throughout the entire loop.

2. The center of lowest pressure, and highest winds, clearly rotated around within the larger outer eyewall during the entire loop.

I realize we made this point earlier in another post, but this looks very clear to me. I submit as evidence:

1. The overall rain shield and convective envelope moves mostly westward and does not move back and forth like the center did.

2. The outer eyewall also does not jump around much especially during the final few hours before landfall.

Now as to what caused this...I have no idea...but that little eye is wandering around the bigger one. Watch the loop and pretend the outer eyewall is the only center...and let me know what you think...

I think some dry air got into it

I was looking at the water vapor Monday morning and noticed some dry air in the area it passes when we see this occuring right before and at landfall

Heres one from my archives

Look closely right at the mexican coast
