Reports From Barbados Re: Emily

#1 Postby abajan » Tue Jul 12, 2005 7:19 pm

Plenty of hot, fair weather all day and a noticeable calm as evening approached. There was nothing terribly spectacular about the sunset. A few minutes ago, we had a welcome cooling shower with just a bit of wind. Nothing out of the ordinary.

Despite what the 2 PM AST advisory says, I suspect Emily is strenthening. For the last 45 minutes or so (perhaps longer because I was napping), we've been experiencing some pretty strong winds (certainly in excess of storm force but not as bad last year's situation with Ivan) and the IR satellite presentation looks impressive to me.

I'm starting to become quite concerned for Grenada because it seems to be headed in that general direction and an awful lot of repairs still need to be done there.
