We were without for about 2 hrs. Back on now. The one thing I missed was my computer...LOL. Plus the coffee pot was just plugged in. We had a lot of family from the coast here, so hubby went to walmart to get a cooker and we made the coffee in an old percolator.

Pretty interesting day..

The water is finally receeding from Shell Point.. it still is running about 7 feet above normal at the coast... we lost power twice here in Northern Wakulla County.. looks like more rain may be on the way...

My dad needs a new GMC Sierra Z-71, my grandparents need one, too, their neighbors lost a Tahoe and a new Cadillac ($52K... eek)... insurance is a great thing. The surge came earlier than they expected.

My little brother is loving it, though... he's seen things I wish I could have today... he saw a hot tub floating in the marsh that parallels my parents' house... he describes today as "incredible".

I have friends at Shell Point that I cannot reach. They live in one of the stilt houses on the left if you are going down towards the beach. They are on one of the waterways and hopefully didn't get their boats damaged too much.

I heard..

I heard a report from my brother that a 54 foot boat was floating by my grandparents' house.

Your friends really should have pulled their boats out of the water.

If they were there and not out of town, hopefully they did. I just get a very fast busy when I try to dial them.

I know why you can't reach them.. phone lines are out down by the coast.

I can't reach my parents on the house phone, either.
