Complacency
Since our area is out of the cone (although we have a tropical storm watch, Ft. Myers) most people think we are safe from any affects of Dennis. People are sitting back and not preparing. I don't want this storm to come anywhere near me...?

Hi Tracy
Over here on the Cape, we had two gas stations run out, with regular unleaded pumps being plastic bagged on two other stations I saw. The Lowes and Home Depots were selling generators as fast as they could set them out here too. Those were the early preparers, I think... Today/tonight you may see more panic buying as it's Friday (payday) and if the track shifts us back into the cone (we've been in and out of it for two days now). I haven't watched Reif or Van Winkle to see their opinions, but am watching from here, CFHC and TPC to make my own determination. I did that with Charley last year and wasn't surprised at all with the "sudden" turn that took our local guys by surprise. Until Dennis passes our lat/long, we're not in the clear, nor do we take an attitude of "we're all gonna die" either.
