Do you all realize that if not for Dennis, this system would be a huge topic! This is a classic cape verde (late august) looking wave. Amazing...

We are having 2 seasons one for the Gulf/Caribbean...In I think we will have a cape verde season. The storms in season one/Tropical formation area one is expected to form alot of landfalling systems. On the other hand season two/Tropical cyclone formation area two(Cape verdes to 60 west across into the central Atlatnic.

I expect to happen.

Out of area 1#
9 tropical storms
3 hurricanes
2 major hurricanes

So far
4 tropical storms
1 hurricane
0 major hurricanes

Out of area 2#
8 named storms
5 hurricanes
3 major hurricanes

So far
0
0
0

I expect all but one of the area two storms will likely be fish/Eastern Canada/New finland storms.

I'v rised my hurricane season numbers to 17 named storms/8 hurricanes/5 major hurricanes as of 7-6-2005.

True, but there is a major difference b/w 1997 and 2005. In 1997 all the storms except for Erika and TD 5 were of subtropical origen, in 2005, so far all the storms have been from tropical origen.
