GFS back to Mississippi Coast

#1 Postby mobilebay » Thu Jun 09, 2005 5:06 am

After a jog to the East on the 00Z run the GFS has come back to the Mississippi coast on the 06Z run. now look for the GFDL, and the NHC Suite to do the same. Most models are in pretty good agreement on a Mississippi/Alabama landfall at this time. Whatever the eventual track may be it is going to spread large amounts of rain along the Central Gulf Coast. Flooding is probably going to be the biggest issue this weekend. Here is that 06Z GFS landfall...

GFDL, UKMET and Official NHC track are currently sitting in the 'leftest' group....the BAMM, LBAR and A98 are more 'right wingers' and the BAMD is...well....Switzerland (kind in the middle).

Sorry for the political references here  But the models seem to be in two camps right now....interesting to see how thing thing will continue to evolve.

I'm not so sure about that solution. I still believe it will be Pascagoula to
Pensacola.

Regardless, the wet side of the storm is going to get the folks ravaged by Ivan.
