Hurricane Tracking Software?
Sorry if I posted this in the wrong place or it has been discusssed before. Just wondering what software everyone is using? I'm looking for software (under $50.00) to run on my Windows XP operating system. I know that there is professional software for businesses and government but I'm looking for something for home use. I have found "Eye of the Storm 3000"(http://www.starstonesoftware.com/eots/) and "Tracking the Eye"(http://www.hurricanesoftware.com/). Has anyone used either of these and would recommend one? Do you know of any other software?
Thank you,
Dan

What version does WAFB use? I know there used to be a free one, but how does WAFB's compare to the one you have to purchase? Can you get sat images with it?....or Outlooks and Discussions, etc?

Software: Almost any price!
I've been using Global Tracks 6.
They're now testing th GT 7 in Beta.
It is so cool! But won't really run on
Win98 or ME.
If I had a different Win version, I'd definitely go for that.
Anyone know of software that isn't $700 and really is useful? There has to be something in the middle - between Shareware and $1000 Pro stuff!
Something that will automatically download and plot advisories from multiple selected sources;
allow overlay of satelite, etc images onto plotting maps; allow addition of specific locations to custom maps, calculates distances,
allow/include SST's and other good stuff.
Even a premium subscription service that allows selection of sources and pays by the month!
That way those of us only interested in Hurricane season in our neck of the woods could pay for Western Hemisphere storms info for June thru Nov.
Go check out the beta discussion of Global Tracks 7 at
http://www.geo-earth.com/forums/index.php?showforum=95.
Look at some of the thumbnails! Oooh, I'd like to be able to do that!
Ah! To dream!

Do you have a link where I could try out GT6? I looked on their website, but it says that Global Tracks 6 is no longer for sale.
Thanks

I think you can download it from the site

I guess it's free? I really don't know.
They have a support forum for GT 6 at the same address I gave for GT 7.
You could ask there.

I'm considering "Eye of the Storm" - sounds like a lot of people are happy with it.
Is this where I should download it?
