There are several impulses rounding the base of a longwave trough, and each have been responsible for episodes of SVR WX starting in OK/TX and making their way SE'ward into the GOM ... and then swinging around that trough fueling already one mid-level disturbance now in GA (which has prompted a tornado watch in SE GA/Southern SC) ... There is a stalled boundary across that region splitting GA/SC.
I can attest to the unsettled nature of the weather in the Carolinas the last several days ... the last time the sun was out was Saturday.
