Storm season starts a bit early as Adrian forms in Pacific

Just what we need: Two weeks before hurricane season even begins, a tropical storm has formed. And it's a weird one at that.
Tropical Storm Adrian emerged in the eastern Pacific Ocean on Tuesday. Normally systems in that region are of no concern to Florida, which is still wounded after last summer's four hurricanes.
But this one is drifting northeast in our general direction at about 5 mph, which is unusual because Pacific storms generally move to the west-northwest, said hurricane specialist Richard Pasch, of the National Hurricane Center in Miami-Dade County.
Before you put up shutters, Pasch said it's unlikely the tropical storm will survive the mountains of Central America and strong winds to arrive in Florida. If it did, the system could approach the state in four or five days, he said.
The question then would be how much of a punch it could pack.
"It's way too early to say," Pasch said.
Tropical Storm Adrian will retain that name if it arrives in the Caribbean or Gulf of Mexico -- even though the first tropical storm on the Atlantic side is supposed to be Arlene.
On Tuesday evening, it was about 450 miles southwest of Guatemala and El Salvador with sustained winds of 40 mph and threatening to bring torrential rains to that region.

This sounds like they are going to continue the rediculous charade of yesteryear.... and not naming things by what the book of regulations claims they should.
Last year we could have had many more named storms than they did.
ie. The RE-Birth of IVAN?????
There was nothing left of him, especially no consistant LLC. That infuriated me, that they would bow down to the media and keep it as Ivan.
