You got to give credit to Matthew he is again trying wrap up convection around his center. If it wasn't for the serious shear
the La. folks would have a serious problem, IMO.

That picture makes it look like he is moving NE instead of NNE. You really can see the eye.

Is the shear over the entire gulf or is there less shear to the East?

Yes looks NE toward the extreme SE La. coastline.
