What was Ivans windspeed in Montgomery

#1 Postby jes » Fri Oct 08, 2004 8:06 pm

Can anyone tell me where I can find what Ivan's sustained wind speed was in Montgomery, Al. I believe Ivan was a tropical storm in Montgomery and if I knew the speed I'd have a better idea of what to expect in Mobile this weekend.

Thanks - that gave me a good idea of what to expect. It said the peak wind gusts in Montgomery were 58 mph. I guess that meant the sustained winds were around 40 mph. It was not at all scary, but I wouldn't drive during it. Thank goodness it appears Mathew is loosing strengh and not headed to Ivan's part of the world. Although 40 mph sustained winds are OK for a healthy city -- they would be much too high for a battered city.
